Default Count unique occurences

Hi, I've a set of Data which has multiple repetitions. Is there a way to count the unique occurences other than doing a pivot with some formula. The Sumproduct seems to work if we look for a particular cell/value recurrence. How to handle this if we have multiple repeated data? Thanks much
