Hi everybody,

Sothink makes the laughable claim that their Decompiler MX 2005b is "The world's leading flash decompiling tool to ... especially convert your SWF to FLA".
Well, we put it to the test:
http://www.ave-imperator.com/pages/testmay.html
The SWF Decompiler MX 2005b Build 50408 was able to recover 131 clean FLA documents from our pool of 4603 complex and ActionScript-heavy SWF files. That is less than 3% - making the words "world's leading" not only questionable, but plain false and rather ridiculous. There is absolutely no doubt that IMPERATOR °FLA v2.0 is a better and much more reliable SWF to FLA converter than the SWF Decompiler MX 2005b.

Best regards,
Richard, IMPERATOR development

How can we believe your test?
Can't it be a vicious competition?

@flash2004:

Didn't you read the test page?
We have thousands of swf files to prove the result.
I mean, if the decompiler would have failed to create clean fla documents for 10 or 20 percent of our test pool files one could still argue that this is a statistical anomaly (which could happen, of course).
It failed to create clean fla documents for more than 97 percent - that is no statistical anomaly - that is a fact!

My advice to anyone with doubts about our test results:
Visit our site and ask for sample files... we'll be happy to provide swf files from our test pool (we've got plenty of them).

upload all your swf files to your server, and publish that url for everybody to download those files and do the test. Request via email is not an open way.

@flash2004:

You know as well as I do that there is an official test coming up in June 2005 (deadline is June 1st).
MX-Magazin will test:
ASV,
FlashDecompiler,
IMPERATOR °FLA and
Sothink Decompiler.
You don't honestly think i'm going to help you debugging your software till then, do you?

You've started all this by flooding the net with the preposterous line:
"The world's leading flash decompiling tool to ... especially convert your SWF to FLA".
Deliberately lying to people has nothing to do with marketing. Your program will enter the test as it is and then we'll see if your bold statements won't backfire.

@all non-sothinks:

Of course, we'll continue to send you sample files to prove our test results (please use an email address which allows us to verify that you're no sothink spy - no webmail addresses such as @163.com or @yahoo.com).

Best regards,
Richard, IMPERATOR development
