Default Do I have to logout twice?

Hi,

I am not sure if this surfaced recently, but I am notcing it for the past couple of days or more, that I had to logout twice to really log out of p2p.wrox site.

Same happens when I try to login for any direct URL to p2p.wrox threads.

Let me explain that here.

I login from p2p.wrox homepage, then do all posting/replying there. When I click logout button, I am taken to homepage where it still shows me the logout button, not the Login/Password text boxes. I had to click that again, that logs me out successfully this time.

Similarly, when I search for something on google, that shows me a link to a thread on p2p.wrox site, clicking that, opens up that page, then I try to login from that page, it takes me to p2p.wrox homepage, where still I see Login/Password textboxes, not the LOGOUT button. So I am not logged in yet, also I should remember the URL to that thread as I am taken to home page now.

Am I missing something/is there really a problem with this. I tried this couple of times on different days on different machines, before posting here.

Also, it would be better if we have something in place to let the user login from any of the inner pages, not only from the homepage and then navigate to other pages.

Cheers!

I can't duplicate your problem. Give me a specific URL where the logout doesn't work (on the first try).

Also, it's normal for the logout to take you to the forum home page when logging out in some cases. This is necessary since there are some areas of the forums that are restricted to members or specific members. After you are logged out you may not have access to the area where you were.

I don't understand your point. From any point in the forums you can log in (except for the new user registration screens). Once again, provide a specific URL.

You can use this (current thread's) URL, as I see this happen for any thread.

From here, I tried to logout. It lands me on to homepage, where I see logout button still. I tried logout from there, which logs me out and redirects me to homepage again. Now I can login from there. And I did some research on this. It happens only when I am in REPLY mode. The URL I posted above is the one that lets me reply to this topic and I experience this LOGOUT-Twice problem for any thread that is in reply mode.

So I suspected the same behaviour for LOGIN too. Tried to simulate that for the above mentioned URL, and I could see that problem with LOGIN too. Tried to simulate that for this URL, (which is normal view mode of this topic), where I am able to login and redirects me to the same URL.

So any topic's Reply mode(Reply to Topic) has the problem with both LOGOUT and LOGIN.

Cheers!

Okay, I made some fixes and the logout should behave properly now for the URL's you listed.
