Lists
In the old system I was subscribed to a couple of lists and was automatically sent new postings via email. Will this still happen with the new system or do I need to log-in in order to view any messages?
Cheers
Martyn
PS
Nice to have you back!

Martyn,
In the new Wrox P2P Forums you can subscribe to a topic, or an entire forum.
At the bottom of the page there will be a link to subscribe to the topic (if you are viewing a specific topic) or the entire forum. Additionally, in the list views (like when viewing a forum), there is an icon on the right for each topic that will allow you to subscribe to a topic.
Whenever a posting or reply occurs against a topic or forum to which you're subscribed, you will receive an email notifying you of the posting. Included in the email will be the content of the posting, and a link to jump directly to the topic in the Wrox P2P Forums.
If you are already subscribed to a topic or forum, the subscribe links will change to unsubscribe links. It's important to note that if you subscribe to a forum, you won't be able to subscribe to the individual topics inside of the forum (otherwise you'd get duplicate emails! :( ).
Finally, you can use the "My Subscriptions" link in the P2P Menu on the left to view all of your subscriptions.
Hope this helps.

I don't see a "My Subscriptions" link on the left. I see P2P Home, Profile, Active Topics, Members, Search, FAQ, and Archives.

You will need to subscribe to at least on topic of forum before the link will appear to you.
You can subscribe using the two methods Bruce stated above.

Will we be getting a daily synopsis or each post individually. When this get going like they used to it can be very heavy if we get only individual emails.
Thanks for comming back.

A digest feature has been proposed as a phase two feature. Although, I cannot say with any certainty when it will be implemented.
Thank you,

As an old user, I really don't want a summary by e-mail. If one want's to view this, one should remember to look. Summaries really clutter up a mailbox when one is away...

Tom,
How many times will I have to read about your lists? Do you realise that your probably the 4th or 5th person I know of to do the same thing? Just throw up a mailing list somewhere and hope it takes root (before Lyris went down.. 3 or 4 people posted about "their" lists..)
Why don't you work to make P2P better instead of flooding the forums over and over again with your .. well, SPAM.
Yes, SPAM- since your running quite a bit of advertising on your "ASPGURU.US" page.

Gee Hal, if my two posts are considered "flooding the forums" what are the 7 posts YOU made to the now locked email topic complaining about not having email lists? I have worked things out with Jim M at Wrox/Wiley and things are cool with us. I suggest you not flame people who are trying to help solve a problem that you yourself bitterly complained existed.
I'm sorry you found my two little posts offensive. I will not be posting the message again per my agreement with Worx. (Nothing to do with you.)
BTW, a message that promotes a site that has advertising (on the site, not in the message) is not spam. If it were virtually every message would be spam including ones from the Wrox forums.
