Default Email subscription and Overall Comments

Is there a way to subscribe to your post and get email notifications if you forgot to subscribe to the post the first time around? I posted a new topic and forget to check the box "Check here to subscribe to this topic". When I went back to my post I couldn't find a way to subscribe unless I replied to my topic.

Also, I like the old p2p forums better. It was easier to subscribe to serveral forums at once. I noticied there is no "My Account" area where you can do stuff like this and update your email or change your password. Maybe I'm just confused as to why change a good thing?

You can subscribe to any forum or topic by clicking on the subscribe Icon on the right on the display. This is makes it very easy to subscribe or un-subscribe to anything you want with a single click.

Click here to see what the icon looks like

Once you have subscribe to at least one topic or forum you will get a new link on the left Nav Bar called "My Subscriptions" which will let you see everything you are subscribed to.

As for the "My Account" area, you need to click on the Profile link in the left Nav Bar. This will allow you to change you email address or password among many other things.

I hope this clears up the issues you have with the site.

I have a quick question on "subscriptions" - once you subscribe, say to a forum, are you supposed to be able to receive email notification of all posts in that forum? I subscribed myself to several forums, but I'm not receiving any email.

Am I misunderstanding the point of "subscriptions"?

Cheers
Ken

Ken:

It would appear that there is an error. One of the forums you are subscribed to already has over 100 posts in it.

I will invistigate today on why you are not receiving any subscription emails, and let you know as soon as I find something.

Thank you,
