I can't send email to other members

For some reason when i go to other member's profile, i dont have a link to send them any email...

You can only send email to other members if they have allowed it in their profile. Each member can determine whether or not other members may send them email. If there's no link, then that member doesn't want you to send them mail.

But sometimes some members do see the mail link for a person while others don't.

Is the ability to send mail related to one's status or account date?
