You could always just turn it off and therefore force the use of the ["url"] tag - since the P's in this forum name indicate that the people using it have at least [u]some</u> hint of intellect, posters can either use the tag, or, if they don't, the reader can copy and paste.

Or you could leave it as it is, which is kind of ok - because it works for the majority of standard cases - it's just that - given there's a lot of Microsoft products being discussed here, and therefore there's probably going to be a lot of MS KB urls, so there will be a lot of these sorts of cases.

It's probably the best idea to leave everything as it is, and that it should be pointed out that clicking on the second part of the url (in the case of MS KB articles) takes you to the whole string.

so if anyone wants to - they can just post the second part of the address - which is the page they actually want to go to.

I now declare this topic complete

There are 10 kinds of people in the world - those who understand binary - and those with friends

Yeah, I agree.

Realizing the problems you run into when changing this feature, I think it's better to leave things as they are.......

I'm giving up too. I've just spent half an hour reading through the snitz code. I guess I shouldn't complain because it is free, but a page that is 1641 lines long (not including the subroutines) kind of puts me off a bit. I feel like I'm doing something wrong if I create a subroutine that is 250 lines long. I also like a little more whitespace. Still it works so I shouldn't pay it out.

Actually I take back what I said about not paying it out. There is no option explicit and variables are not declared, that is unless they are declared up the chain in the include files and Option explicit is also declared there. Besides even if they were declared up there that wouldn't be much better.
