Exclamation Not receiving every mail from a new message.

Hi..

This is hard to notice, because if you don't receive the mail maybe you don't even notice the lost. But today I was following a thread from a user I don't remember and Imar was answering too. At some point, I receive a mail with the reply from the OP. When I enter the thread, there was not only that post, but 3 more from Imar and the OP. I'm using gmail, So as far as I know they are not bounced like spam. Could it be that the server is missing mails?

Jim is there any way to check this out???

Thanks.

Default I second that...

This was happening to me and we have our own email domain so it's definitely not just GMAIL... actually we might be talking about the same thread? the one about setting a label value with c#?

I think this is actually a feature of the forum. But I also think the explanation of the feature has been (accidentally??) dropped from the mail template.

Earlier messages contained this text:
Quote:
There may also be other replies, but you will not receive any more notifications until you visit the forum again
So, you'll get an alert on the first, but not on subsequent posts, until you visit this site again. I assume this is done to minimze outgoing (and incoming) e-mail.

Cheers,

Imar

Yes and no. The base vbulletin email functionality is as Imar describes and is described in the email disclaimer.
But, we changed the functionality to match the old forum so that you should get email for:
  • every post someone else makes on a forum you are subscribed to
  • every post someone else makes on a topic you are subscribed to
If that's not happening, I'll log it as a bug. And once it's working right 100% of them time, I'll update the email footer text.

This one has been logged as fixed by our programmer. If you see it happen again, please let us know.

Sounds good. Did they also fix the "you have been a participant" bug? I still get text like this for threads I participated in:
Quote:
jminatel has just replied to a thread you have subscribed to entitled - Not receiving every mail from a new message. - in the P2P and Wrox.com Feedback forum of p2p.wrox.com Forums.
No sign of participation at all....

It's marked as fixed but clearly there's something wrong. I've reopened it.
