Question Third Party Software

I recently purchased Beginning iOS Game Development book and was wondering if there was additional software needed to generate the games as illustrated in this book. I currently have a Mac mini with OS X 10.7.x Lion, Xcode 4.3 and Apple iOS SDK. Some other gaming books have mentioned the use of Multimedia Fusion 2, Acid and Audacity software for music and sound effects and GIMP 2 for graphics development. Unfortunately MMF2 is not free and requires purchasing but all others are free but do not run in Mac OS X only Windows environment.
