Default What's The Purpose?

Hi,

When I first became a member here, I noticed the little "This page was generated in n seconds(I put the n in there because the time usually varies). My question is this: Does it really need to be there? What's it for?

It's there to help us keep an eye on the performance of the forum software and back-end database.

We use it monitor the performance to ensure we can respond if things slow down - and to see the effect of changes/enhancements.
