The .Net Framework has to be installed on the client. Make sure you use the appropriate version (the same one you created your application with).

melvik,

Yes, it most certainly is running on their machines. All you are doing is providing the executable file remotely. If you click on a link to an EXE file on a webserver you would download the EXE, not cause it to run on the web server, this would be a bit of a security risk don't you think? There is little difference between that and what you are doing on your local network. The only difference is that you are using a file share instead of an HTTP connection.

So you must install the framework on each local machine.

Yes, Hovik. I did read your message. I was making an analogy between downloading an EXE from a web site and "downloading" an EXE from a networked server to illustrate the point that the EXE is not running on the source machine.

Hi again to my friends:
I solve the first problem of not running my app in diffrent client by installing .NET Frameworks, but I still can not run it from Server. I want to copy it in a server & then run it after mapping client to server. Plz tell me what do I need.

Any help appreciated!

Always:),

Hi Hovik,

I think you should mark the network location as "Trusted" to allow it to run on your client. That is, the client has to trust the location where the .exe is coming from.

If I am not mistaken, there is a .NET Framework 1.1 Wizards item in your Administrative Tools menu. Choose that item, and then run the "Trust an Assembly" wizard. Follow the steps to select your network .exe. I think this will do the trick.

Cheers,

Imar

Hi Hovik,

I don't know why there are no menu items for .NET configuration on a Windows 98 machine, but you'll find the Wizard executable (ConfigWizards.exe) here:

C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322

This allows you to start the Wizard, just like on Win 2000 or XP

Cheers,

Imar

Yes I got it before, but I guess I hadnt login to Server! So I had no primision to run from! Something interesting Imar: I found that file but it was not runing properly in Windows 98.
But it was good in 2 porints! 1st for Clients that will not login to Server & 2nd I got what r they using for (i mean those 2 .Net menu in Administrator Tools)?!
