Default How to connect to a datasource remotely

I have this problem, I want to connect to a remote datasource in my VB/ASP.NET and Access/MS SQL as its database.

When the datasource is within my PC e.g. c:\retail\shop.mdb it works fine, but when i try to connect to a remote data (LAN), I used \\computername\sharename\shop.mdb, but I get and error, it doesn't work.

How can I fixed this? Can somebody help me?

Any tips will be appreciated..

Thanks.

Thanks Darsin for the reply..

My computer is hide from the network, (computer browser service is disabled) and I try to used net use command to map the drive but I got "error 67, network not found". I will try to disable first the zonealarm from the PC I want to map the drive.

Which one is better in putting/running the Web application? Is it better to put on a web server and connect to the data from the other PC or put the web application where the data is stored and run IIS on it.

Any suggestion will be appreciated.

I cant Comment on the network as i may not be the right person to ans that but as far as running iis it depends ..if u feel that ur performance is degrading due to database and iis running on same machine u can seprate them.. else no prob..as i see.
