Default combobox

Here is one for the framework pros. I have a pocket pc form I have to create, I was modeling it after the first project (done by a developer who is no longer here) on his form he has a combobox, but the items collection is reacting like a web form's dropdownlist. Does any body know how dis this?

BTW, I have confirmed it I am using the same type of form object and references.
