Default Building Internet Explorer plugins/addons in C#

Hello,

Does anyone know if it is possible to build plugins for Internet Explorer using C#? (I don't know how to use C++ and don't really want to learn it!)

I would like to create a program that is either an add on for IE, or a one that runs along side IE and interacts with it. I don't want it to come in the form of an activex component because they tend to get blocked for security reasons.

Can anyone point me in the right direction because I haven't a clue how to do this.

Thanks
