Default max value of a row of dates in Excel?

What function can I use in vb.net to get the maximum value of a row of dates in Excel?

The following doesn't work:

Dim DateRow as Range, MaxDate as Date
MaxDate = xl.Worksheetfunction.Max(DateRow)

neither does using DMax()

thanks
