Default Where do I start

Hello,
I want to work on an existing web site at my job. It is built on .net. Where and what would be my best bet to start to learn how to work on this. Is it xhtml,asp.net, vb or what. If anyone can help great and also what books might point me in the right direction.

Thank you,
Gordon

How you proceed will largely depend on what you already know. Are you already a programmer in some regard? Does the site you are referencing use XHTML or is it using HTML? Is the site developed using C# or VB.NET?

A little background about the project and your abilities are needed before anyone can suggest a direction fo you to go in.
