Default how to call asp.et and vb.net function using javas

hi there,

     how to call asp.et and vb.net function using javascript.i want display data from database, but can it be possible to call asp function at the click event of javascript function.

Any reply or suggestion is most appreciated.

Yes, it's possible, through this: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms535874(VS.85).aspx

You have to establish a connection with the server this way; ideally, the ASP.NET AJAX framework leverages web services to do this kind of thing. There is a proxy object in the framework: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb397525.aspx that you can use to establish the connection and retrieve the data.

 No, not exactly, .NET code is not on the client side, to do what you want, you must do what bmains has said and use Ajax, basically, you call your asp.net function via Ajax, and retrieve its return value/data.
