Hibernate & MySQL: Cannot open the Connection

Hi I am trying to run the examples given in "Professional Hibernate" book I am suing MySQL. Running first example It Show the error "net.sf.Hibernate.JdbcException: can not open the connection". Please help me

Guess there is a problem with the system..this is why the error keeps on coming..
