Default Link in Outlook Message

Hi... I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but it seemed closest to the issue I'm having.

I want to enable a download of a vCard from a link within an Outlook Message (specifically, an HTML signature). We have several links working that open a web browser (like, company website). But the link to the vCard opens IE briefly, shows the download dialog box, and then quickly disappears.

It *does* stay open longer, however, if I already have an IE browser window open already when i click the link in the Outlook signature. If I set my default browser to FireFox, it always works as expected and I can download the vCard.

Has anyone run across this before, and know a good workaround?
