Default shoot thid - jdbc drivers-connection pooling

hai All,
what is difference between thin protocol and thick protcol.

In connection pooling, while creating a new pool, in the properties box generally i had given like this 'db=tablename'. So that programs which uses this pool i.e data source only can able to use that specified table only. If i want to use more than one table what is the procedure.
