Hi,

thats one amazing question, in a nutshell listeners listen for events that happen in you web up, there are attibute listeners that let you know when a attribute has been created or not, session listeners that let you know when a session has been created, servlet context listeners which tell you when a servlet has been initialised. Go to the sun site they have alot of information there, if you want examples then google listeners on the internet.

Cheers
