Default Urgent:::CHARTS DISPLAY PROBLEM IN iReports+Jasper

Hi 2 all,
This is a genuine request to all of u.Please help me out with this. Earlier i was using a iReport 1.2.5 but that did not help me make the charts the way i wanted. So i switched to 1.2.2...Atleast it helped to display the bar and pie charts the way i wanted but not matching the criteria...So now i tried iReport 1.3.0. But the problem still persists.. The charts are not displayed in any version of iReports released after version 1.2.2. Now please be kind enough to read my criteria and query and help me out.

We are supposed to make a Stacked Bar Graph. For eg. We have a table that has list of students and the cities they belong to.So, We get result as a display of cities and number of students belonging to that city. Got it?
now the specifications of the client is such that the charts should such that The count of students should be displayed on the Y-axis and the graph should be a 2-d or 3-d bar graph with only (ONE) 1 BAR with the list of cities displayed in the stack one above other with the width of each partition of that stack varying as per the number of students belonging to that which is reflected and seen from the y-axis...

now please please please respond to it... and help me out...a detailed explanation would be welcome as i am a fresher and this is the first project i got in this company that i joined.

Thanks and Regards,

JENAL
