just got 64 bit Vista and cannot find the JRE security settings - used to be java.policy - trying to make access to a dabase from an applet work and I'm getting security blocks - would like to temporarily override this block but then later set it again - I teach Java programming over the Internet and get a lot of potentially dangerous program submission so usually I need the protection

turns out it is not Vista that has the java.policy file - I downloaded the jdk and jre as part of JDeveloper and the java.policy file was buried deep in its bowels
