Need suggestions on project using java and TCP/IP

Hullo everyone, am a third year university student and am planning my final year project using Java and TCP/IP....i have basic knowledge in java programming and
confident of my TCP/IP.. i need suggestions from the seniors and how i may go about them...please help.
