Default mysql + JDBC + Linux

i have installed the the needed JDBC driver .. when i execute a sample code, it seems that the driver is loaded properly but access is denied to the database ...

please anyone who is facing similar probs or have solutions ...

You need may need to pass a user name and password (if password required by the db). Are you doing this?

Im pretty sure a default user is set in mySql even if you did not define one specifically.

In project/program, some where u r specifying username & password in case of DB, specify them DB default username & password.
In case of MySQL, default username is root and password may be empty or root.
