Default Positioning of GUI objects on Frame

hi everyone...i m using netbeans to create some GUI in java...d problem is that the positioning of gui objects like button,textarea..etc on d frame is not a smmoth operation...i have to use gridbaglayout n even then it does;t show very satisfactory results....drag n drop actions r not supported...i m very distressed....pls help
