How can we access a folder on client computer using javascript.

In what environment are you trying to do this?

From a normal Internet page, you can't do this (and I am really glad you can't).

However, if you control the target machines (an Intranet), you could lower the browser's security settings and then use VBScript or JScript and the FileSystemObject to access files...

its unlikely that any security settings (even low ones) over the WWW would allow this
