Default Modal Window...

Hello,

I would like to know if I could write an IE/Firefox 1.0 compatible
code for Modal window. My requirement is, have a button in a window. On click of that button, call a popup. On close of popup, I need to return a value back to the caller.

As, modal window does not seem to work, I have used window.open();
But the problem is that, in the popup window i cannot do a window.top.returnValue... which logically may not work.

I would like to know how to resolve this.

Please Advice,
Babloo

For sending values between parent and child window (html pages) you can make use of "window.opener" ...

Example: window.opener.document.form1.text1.value = txtVal;

For opening a modal dialog window in IE:

<html>
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=windows-1252">
<meta name="GENERATOR" content="Microsoft FrontPage 4.0">
<meta name="ProgId" content="FrontPage.Editor.Document">
<title>New Page 1</title>
</head>
<body onLoad="javascript:window.showModalDialog('attachm entSize.html')">
</body>
</html>

Best Regards
