Default Encouragement?

Hey....
I'm enrolled in a web database development program. So far, I've gone through HTML & CSS and understood it quite readily and found it very interesting and fun to play around with.
Now....JAVASCRIPT.....!!!!
I have gone through the intro chapters in the course program and chapters 1, 2 & 3 in the WROX book "Javascript for beginners" 3rd edition. Whoa....I feel totally lost.
Here's my question....will this ever make sense to me? I believe I'm pretty intelligent, but this javascript thing seems very complex. Any insight or encouragement would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hello I am in the same boat as you bud... Although I am probably a little more confidant in going into JavaScript, that could very well be shattered after I read the first few chapters. HAHA

But yea I just finished Scripting I course which covered the many HTML versions then into XHTML and CSS. This course was a snap because I had previous HTML experience anyways, but I def admit that I am a little intimidated with JavaScripting, haven't ever really done anything with it before. And it looks very much like "real" programming...

I always have a blast with HTML and I picked up CSS with my latest course very easily and absolutely love CSS... but I admit, at first before I knew what CSS involved I was also intimidated.

So I plan to just tackle this JavaScripting course/book and see how it goes.

Shows here you posted this in DEC 09, so not to long ago...

How you faring? Any tips?
