Umair, use the mysqldump tool (http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql/en/mysqldump.html ) to dump your tables into a text file. Then use this text file to repopulate your database, either via a web based interface (cut and paste commands from file into SQL window), or your mysql client...

umair...Talk about getting ahead of myself but I bought a program called SQLyog on the net for around $99 for doing just that.

There is a Sync tool that logs onto your hosting space and moves everything over.

Of course I put the cart before the horse and bought that in anticipation of setting MYSQL etc up on my PC.

I cannot even get a connection to my database and am posting the problem elsewhere.

Check http://www.webyog.com/sqlyog/index.php for details.
