Default Web Developer Apprentice?

Hello.
I am currently enrolled in a Web development Certification Program. I breezed through the first part of the program related to HTML, CSS and Design. I am now deeply into Javascript, Ajax, Visual Basic and ASP.Net. Not as easy as the first part of the course by any measure.
I find my understanding of these concepts to be quite cloudy without any "real-life" situations to apply them to.
Does anyone know if there are any apprentice opportunities in the web development world?
If not, how about an idea of what an entry level web developer might be asked to do? Any help appreciated. Thanks.

If you aren't looking to get paid much (or anything) you might look for web developer "intern" job listings. Now's the time most companies are looking for interns for this summer while traditional colleges and univerities are on summer break. Good luck.

Thanks Jim, I'll see if I can find something using "intern" as a keyword. And BTW...no, I am not expecting much pay, if any...Just want the experience. Learn by doing. Thanks again.
