Default Set the flag to the already uploaded fil

I have one problem, i have to upload a excel file using .net,if i try to uoload a file that is already uploaded,how can i find out that file.i want to set a flag/mark to the already uploaded file.How can i set a flag/mark to that excel file that is already uploaded.
