Getting values from datagrid

Hi!
I am using Asp.net 1.1. I have problem in getting value from datagrid it has a dropdown list in the field but while accessing its value to change the color of the grid (according to the value of a cell), it does not return the value.
can anyone have tried it and help me solving this problem
