Meta tags are a good place to start, but there are many more things you need to worry about then just Meta Tags.
I could go on and on and on about this, but as hericles said, this is probably not something you are goign to achieve straight out of the gate.
I suggest picking up Jamie's and Cristians book: Professional
SEO with ASP.NET as it is a good resource for this type of thing. (Follow the link in my signature)
Socur the web as well there are plenty of forums dedicated to just
SEO.
