Hi I am displaying all empnames in dropdownlistbox, its showing in sorting order.If i type 'S' its shoing all names start with 'S' but if i type 'SR' its showing names start with 'R'
but i need names start with 'SR' how to do it.
help me.

Browsers don't support this natively. As you found out, hitting the second character will take you to names starting with that letter.

You can use JavaScript to create this behavior. Fortunately, other people have already created solutions for this problem, so there is no need to code yourself. Take a look here: http://webfx.eae.net/dhtml/combobox/combobox.htm
I think there are other scripts around too. Google will know if that is true, or not ;)
