DBLink ORA-12154

Hi All,

I'm trying to create a DB Link. The link creates successfully but return s the following error:

Code:

Link TEST_LINK error: ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve service name

I have checked the .ora file, but it has the service name of the connecting DB listed there. What could be the possible reason for this.

Have you been able to TNSPING the TNS entry for the database you are connecting to from the machine you are connecting from ?

TNS ping does work for the DB entry of the machine that i'm trying to connect to.
While trying to text the DB link the MsgBox (i use TOAD as client) displays:

Error Returned attempting to run "Select * From dual@Test_Link" :
ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve service name

Does it have something to do with permissions or anything?
