Default .ATF File Need Help Opening or Viewing

This is probably not the right topic to be in, but don't know where to go with this. I need help accessing/viewing an .atf file. When I open it in notepad, it looks like this;

Sample: &éÌ' äÀÉ4
‚“†søÉI00pCb™ŠCH*×ÿýÿÞ÷w /ë÷W÷ëì ×ïü7zï~'Sao‡ýþ»þ""Ð`·ww`œ>× ¡ÓM=<>üDDDDD4 ñùk¨ÿÿÿÿü´‹¨ÿ-uj?þZ`ÃÓ¬ Á6$!rÜ©€ U#‹T; ñbO¬" (›^ˆ7ðD0L Ãu ’l<’æ¥t²6 ¿

This should be an image file, but can't find any information on what programs will open or view it. The file is also linked to a database in some way, but I first need to figure out how to display/open this file. Any help would be appreciated. The file itself is 10kb and I can easily email it if someone can take a look at it and help me out. . .
