I scheduled a job in Oracle 10g using DBMS_SCHEDULER on 27/03/2009 as follows:
I want to run the job every 2 days.
so Setting for the DBMS_SCHEDULER jobs:
Repeat Interval: FREQ=DAILY;INTERVAL=2
Start date : 28/03/2009 04:00:00.000
End Date : 30/03/2009 05:00:00.000
My job successfully ran on 28/03/2009@4:00 and produced the results. But It got failed when DBMS_SCHEDULER try to run(second_ on 30/03/2009 @4:00. But my enddate for the job is 30/03/2009 @5:00.
From the DBMS_SCHEDULER log table i'm able to find the reason as REASON="Next Time Eval Failed" and OPERATION = BROKEN . It means oracle DBMS_SCHEDULER tried to trigger the job but got failed.
Can anyone help me to resolve this error?

Verify how long it took for the job to actually run from start to finish. It sounds as if it took longer than 1 hour.

Actually When the job successfully ran on 28/3/09 took only 2 mins to finish all my 5 chain steps.

But on 30/3/09@4:00 it not at all run atleast the Step1 of the job. That is DBMS_SCHEDULER tried to trigger the job chain @ 4:00 and got failed (information from DBMS_SCHEDULER log table says REASON="Next Time Eval Failed")

The conflict is between the REPEAT_INTERVAL and the END_DATE, they are the same. I recommend either changing the END_DATE outside of the REPEAT_INTERVAL or change the REPEAT_INTERVAL to 1 (once).

For clarity ... move the REPEAT_ INTERVAL between the START_DATE and END_DATE...just a suggestion.
