problem with javascript

Hi frnz...
Am new to programming.
My problem is,
I have a JSP page called "issuebook.jsp".
There will be one checkbox against each book entry.
I have to fetch the book ids to a stored procedure if the checkbox field is checked.
I need some code examples to do that....
Kindly help me.
