Default Storing PHP Session data in a MySQL db?

Dear all,

I am wondering if you can help (I seem to be asking that all the time I post to these forums!)

I have a PHP/MySQL website to develop (for uni coursework), and am needing to store Session variables inside a MySQL DB table. There are a few reasons for this, but one of the biggest is so I can verify the users details (In a similar way to p2p does when you sign up) but also coz it may come up in the exam! I therefore need to know how to do this. I know it is possible, 'coz I remember seeing something on it when I googled the issue a while back (But can I remember what I typed into Google!! Course I can't. Thank you Murphy's Law!)

If it is possible for someone to either point me in the direction of a good URL that shows how to do this, or give me a function name I look up on somewhere like php.net I would be immensely grateful.

Many thanks in advance
