Default php, mysql, apache & dreamweaver

Hi. i have the following running on my machine

php 5
mysql 5
apache 2
dreamweaver mx 2004

all of these programs work fine separately. however, i've been trying to access mysql through dreamweaver, and it's just not working. dreamweaver isn't recognizing any of my databases. I'm not sure where i should make the adjustments.

do i need to create my databases in a folder that's specified in the site definition?

do i need to adjust apache for a new server root?

my hair is falling out. helllpppp. thanks in advance =)

In my college final year, I started like you. And I left without trying it further ..

Then, I replaced dreamweaver forever with HomeSite+ and Notepad++. And I started using phpMyAdmin for MySQL database management.

do i need to create my databases in a folder?
No. You need supply correct variables to dreamweaver, so that it can connect to MySQL. Yes, it will connect, you need supply correct host, username, password and perhaps MySQL port variable also.
