Default subtracting two time mysql fields in php

I have been having problems with subtracting two time fields in mysql table using php while retaining the the format (00:00:00)which is the default provided by the php maker I am using .I want it to be accurate to the nearest second.I want to use these results for calculating some ststistics.

Urgent.Please help me!!!!!!
