Default Php running problem

Hi,
I am new to PHP. My problem is whenever i try to open my .php file online, it will ask me to download my sourcecode. I uploading my index.html file using form method and action to a index.php file. Then i upload these 2 files (index.html and index.php) onto my web server (geocities free web base mail).
It work well when i open my web page "index.html" but whenever i want it to perform the action, the web will prompt me to download my index.php file. Can i know where did i go wrong?

Thanks for your reply.

Yee

There are only two stupid questions: the one you can't find the answer to and don't ask, and the one that you can find the answer and do ask.

Hi Yee
You have done nothing wrong. It seems your free server does not allow PHP scripts to run on. find another hosting that allows php scripting.

I found this list, but I don't know whether the hosts are trustworthy or how updated it is. You can find web hosting easily with Google, though.
