I think the reason you aren't getting any responses is no one subscribed to these general discussion PHP forums has that book. This forum and its siblings are for general PHP discussion, not for discussion about Wrox books. There are forums for the books too. As to creating thumbnails with PHP. It's fairly trivial, and there is more than one approach. A Google search yields several intersting articles on the topic.
