Date Validation

I was looking to create a form, where a customer fills address details along with how long they have lived their. What i was trying to do was if customer enters a date that is over 3 years, then the customer does not need to fill in the previous address details, if it is under 3 years then customer will need to fill in previous address details.

Please help!!!
