Default Detecting the field strength of a PDA

Hi!

I have to work on a project for school.
My task is to detect the field strength of a PDA, which is connected to a WLAN AccessPoint.
Does anyone know if this is possible through the use of java and how?
If it's not possible, is there any other programming language which would support this kind of field force detection of a PDA?

I hope that there's anyone out there who can help me with this problem

Cya and thanks,
DarkAtrox
