Most important/difficult part of it ( 4me ), is2 write a JavaScript editor with smilies/text-formatting buttons/BBCode like they use in forums/blogs e.g., vBulletin forum. Lots of JavaScripts. If u've any helping ideas, please post

Considering how complicated most CMS systems are these days, I suggest you play with a few and pick the one you like the best. Writing your own from scratch is going to be much harder than you can initially expect. You're not just dealing with creating a message posting/topic database, but you'll need to deal with users, permissions, database schemas, etc.

It'll probably be far easier to take some off-the-shelf product and tweak it to make it suit your needs.

Take care,

Nik

Thanks for reply. I'm using FCKEditor for users' writing content. Two problems, currently I've: I've written a 'Files manager script' for my cms, ( going more ambitious ) I'm thinking to simulate 'recycle bin' ( delete/restore ) for it, using filesystem tricks, not db. Next, suppose we want information about a paricular directory like: total files, total directories inside, and total size. That's a boggling loops and arrays, I give up, whenever I try:D
