Code Obfucstration / Locking

Hi,

Im looking for an effective way to lock / obfucstration a project before deploying it. I have come across several including SourceGuardian, SourceCop, phpSheild but have not decided. I don't want to go with Zend because of its ridiculous price as well as the fact that the end user must install the zend optimizer on their server for it to work.

Can anybody suggestion other alternatives I might have?
