Guess this question has been on the cooker before but can't find it.

An Email lives in a ".dbx" folder. An attachment forms part of an Email in an encoded format.

Using VB6 or VBS, how does one get at the attachment, decode it (if say it is a Base64) and, using the given submitted File name, copy it to a HDD Folder.

I only use Outlook Express. Outlook proper allows one to make a reference to its DLL. Outlook Express is apparnetly a no-go area.

I would appreciate any pointers or suggestions.

Outlook express has NO object model so you cannot get to the message store programmatically.
