Disable Cell entry in a datagrid

I have a datagrid on my form which works great, the grid has 2 columns. The first column is locked, but users may edit the other column. Is there a way to disable cell entry into the first column, so that no matter where someone clicks on the grid, it will automatically go into column 2?

Would appreciate any help or pointers
